The name Tommy Schneller has truly established itself in the European music scene, playing his “earthy” saxophone style together with a long list of top international artists in Concerts, Music Festivals and in the studio, the list reads like a Who´s Who of the music business.
The way up was long and hard, after listening to old LPs Tommy recruited his first band when at school. Together with his friends they took band lessons together with Todor Todrovic the leader of the well known and long established Blues Company, and at that time Tommy´s musical orientierung was set. From 1986 Tommy was an integrated part of the Blue Monday jam sessions at the legendary Pink Piano, the blues nest of north west Germany where many who are well known started their musical careers.
Today Tommy presents a band of international quality, the basis of the band is five musicians but can be increased by adding the horn section (Tpt, Tbn & Sax). The band plays a repertoire of exciting and rhythmic music including R & B, Funk & Soul and anything else thathas “blue” notes !
Red Holloway himself a great saxophonist once said, “ Anyone who doesn´t groove to Tommy´s CD must be dead” Tommy presents himself not only as a great singer and saxophonist he also presents himself as a great entertainer who knows how to work the crowd.
In addition to this he has the support from a really first class band who do not just play as a backing for Tommy, this is not a one man show more a band show !
